Talked to Scott about it. Trip insurance on either is really only for illness. I will look into it and into what AMEX offers, but aside from illness you are not really well protected. To me, the ace in the hole which I wouldn't rely on may be Matt's cousin, Doug, at Air France. If you had to cancel, I would call him and see if he could give you some flexibility. But again, I wouldn't rely on it. He's runs the Dulles gate - not low level, but not a high level guy either. Scott wanted to run the other options one more time and make sure there wasn't another option that gets you a little more flexibility. But if not, I'll tell him to go ahead and we'll look into insurance. Eric D. However, he wanted to caution you that the Air France tickets are non-refundable. And if you had to cancel and wanted to re-use the tickets you have to make the change PRIOR to the date of the current tickets and you have to use the tickets on something of equal or greater value. So, if you need to cancel, you'll have to decide how you want to use the tickets before your current date of departure. Once that passes, you lose the tickets. Scott is checking to see if any of the other options we looked at are less restrictive (they are all non-refundable to save money) but wanted to make sure you understood. I may come back to you later today with an option of doing another flight with more flexible options in the event you have to change your tickets. > > Can one of you please just give me some feedback before Scott issues the tickets? Want to make sure you are still OK with this given the above. (Not sure what choice you have to be honest if you don't want to spend thousands more for refundable or partially refundable.) > > > > Eric D.
