Welcome to Family Sharing, Henry!

Here’s a quick guide to help you and your family members get started.

Download music, movies, TV shows, books & apps

- Visit the Purchased page in the iTunes or App Store.

- Choose a family member.

- Download any item from their list of purchases.
Available content may vary by country or region.

You can turn on Ask to Buy to approve purchases initiated by children under 18.


Start sharing family photos and videos

- Open the Photos app.

- Tap on Family in the Shared tab.

- Add photos & videos you want to share.

Everyone can add their own photos, videos, and comments.


Add events to your Family calendar

- Open the Calendar app

- Create an event

- Choose the Family calendar to add the event

You can set up family reminders that appear on everyone’s devices


Find your family

- Open the Find My Friends app.

- See a list of your family members and their current locations.

- Also view locations in the Messages app on iOS 8 or later.

Keep your location private with a single switch in iCloud Settings.


Help find family members’ devices

- Open the Find My iPhone app.

- Select a family member’s device to show its approximate location.

- Play a sound to help them find it.


Managing your family

As the family organizer, you are in charge of inviting all new family members. In addition, iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases initiated by family members will be billed to your account.

To turn on Ask to Buy and adjust other Family Sharing settings, go to iCloud Settings on your iOS device or Mac.
