Dear friends and colleagues:

As many of you already know, I have resigned to my post as ambassador of
Argentina to the US. Our country has mid-term elections this year and I am
convinced that my contribution is now greater in Argentina than in
Washington, DC.

It has been a true privilege to represent my countrymen here in the United
States in such an important moment in the bilateral relationship. After
years of an emotional and practical distance, our countries have now fully
re-engaged. President Obama's trip to Argentina in March, 2016, President
Macri coming twice to the US last year, and his working-official visit to
President Trump scheduled for March, 27th are clear testimonies to that.

It has been a real pleasure to get to know and work with every single one
of you. And I hope that, in our quests to serve our countries, our paths
will cross again many times.

Together with my wife Carla and our son Gaspar we have enjoyed our time
living in this extraordinary city, and feel that we go back home greatly
enriched by experiences, memories and new friends. It is now time to go
back to our beloved Buenos Aires, where will be delighted to host you if
you are ever there.
