Dear Seniors: Only a few more days before senior projects begin! At this point, the majority of you have received final approval (though I would encourage you to verify your approval on sidwellfriends.com). For those of you who have yet to finalize your proposals, you have heard from me now multiple times and I am expecting your project in hand as soon as possible. A few friendly reminders before you begin your work: I am attaching a Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement to this email that you received in your class meeting earlier today. You and your parents/guardians MUST sign this form and return it to me no later than this Friday, April 28. If you are unable to physically submit a signature, an email acknowledging you agree to the terms is acceptable. For those of you completing individual projects, it is an expectation that you meet with your faculty advisors twice weekly. You should have already scheduled these times in advance, but if not, confirm the dates/times this week. For those of you completing internships or social justice/community engagement projects, you do not need to meet with your faculty advisor twice weekly. You do, however, need them to sign your senior project timesheet (along with your off-campus supervisor). The timesheet document is attached to this email and should be submitted directly to me or a colleague in the College Counseling Office at the end of each week. As a reminder of expectations, I am attaching a copy of the Senior Project Guidelines. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the five weeks, please reach out to your faculty advisor, SPA, or me. We would prefer to speak to you about any concerns in advance of your defense and/or presentation. Senior project defenses will begin Thursday, June 1. These defenses are 10-minute sessions where students will speak about their projects and answer questions from faculty members. I will be in touch later in May with the schedule. Lastly, senior project presentations will take place on Thursday, June 8. I will also be in touch later in May about the format of this day. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing about your experiences at the end of the month! Best, Emily CC: Kathleen and Hunter Biden
