Hi folks, sorry for the delay. WIR from last week: 1. On Tuesday, Patty and Josh met with Larry Meli and Alex Yoh from the DE 87ers to discuss training the Sevens staff, coaches and summer camp employees in Stewards of Children. This summer the Sevens are running basketball clinics at the PAL center downtown in addition to their regular summer camps. We expect to train about 50 people through this partnership. 2. On Wednesday, Patty held a Stewards of Children training in Georgetown, DE for about 30 people (Fund for Women and Del. Tech). 3. On Thursday, the BBF Board met. We did not have a quorum (our bylaws require 5 of 9 board members for a quorum), however, we (Hunter, Dr. Borin & Fred Sears) had a great discussion about the BBF’s growth and future. The board members in attendance asked the staff to come up with three or four scenarios for the future of the foundation and what it would take to achieve them. 4. This week we began on-boarding the people who registered for, and ran in, the trail race. The first email was an introduction to the BBF and our mission - the next two emails will be programatic and fundraising. Fundraising: BBF Memorial Trail Run: $240.00 Golf Outing: $3,200.00 Grassroots: $550.45 Major Gifts/Grants: $875.00 Total Revenue: $4,865.45 Social media: https://www.facebook.com/BeauBidenFdn/posts/1664651410510877 <https://www.facebook.com/BeauBidenFdn/posts/1664651410510877> Email: Subject: Be a Part of the Solution Fr: Team Beau Date: April 18 Team, Delaware is home to three Child Advocacy Centers which routinely work with children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or sexual assault. These centers provide vital outreach and intervention programs as well as work with survivors to communicate what they have been through. Despite an uptick in reports of child abuse in recent years, these centers have had to make do with less. IT services have been cut back and access to interpreters has been limited. With additional cuts proposed on the state and federal level, these centers fear they will have to lay off critical staff members or possibly close one of their centers. It is crucial to have an engaged network of supporters that are vowing to be advocates for children. Each and every person can make the difference by being a part of the solution. <https://www.beaubidenfoundation.org/landing/e170418/?blm_aid=52895>Add your name if you are committed to supporting Beau’s mission of putting an end to child abuse. <https://u4796854.ct.sendgrid.net/wf/click?upn=33xIkxYvDM7N-2Blaob-2FkTt9Hl6Hwt93F9lq2OucZR8K-2FUgxqQOn52yFx2jPoGcTqZ6wDHvill31boW5FJZa2DEqETlMcon8UXmk6jXTofpLgnr5j02TtTXSXPQ8JyFr7vaAhk8eimTiD-2FMaNTH299uSGoB6AwkcgZ4RFgsnXUDah9s29fl2RmErq31C6YRJgUwe4ZSjqrX9X5j7NCSlLCa9McG2g4m2POCNcrv5sS6O-2FX0RswRr-2Fku8aQnZ8TXIfOfEeMyGoky3-2FbXFQfIrBd06PJ4lupC6BY92BS-2BSOL8Aw-3D_965qgnSKMGnfdrpX9iBiZl20XmiOnDcUJ2KfoxcqP6U83Q7MwPJUOLpfjy7cPBuOZFyiq5jJr57JE5ToYJZpqcsftOBMrJtaNoGZxoYKhdRpyb4TAjR4pp-2FjTl2m1qjs-2F0b4AXqLr77R-2F4RIGQdhcDcLG-2F15Um2LKMW4LY5NZZ1UtWzYc0dAUQ57cI52yaBQ-2F-2FrwJWNuOtXtQ6YozTIszY2vlA3yBVvUYCoxzE2jp5xaVagWhsTXa50umqbjvLDs6cP5Vr8X-2BNgoD-2FDhKBHTRoryAU9WQyzdgvH-2FRMv3LzSC6iHoAGomlcyrXEjOpowZNwBo2BwEjQS2dwPqibX2prUsFUWZussOGz3LlGIhxUoOToEAZqZNrPB6tMFfCWMsLXrytSkpH6kaiY52yKX-2Bpg-3D-3D> These centers and their programs are providing crucial services to help survivors of abuse and are indispensable to our efforts.
