Dear Hunter, With the May 16 primary getting closer every day, I wanted to give everyone an update on the campaign as we approach our last campaign finance filing deadline of May 1st. First, thanks to all of you for your support which has gotten the campaign off to a strong start. As many of you already know, last July Governor Wolf appointed Geoff to fill a vacancy on the PA Superior Court, where he has been serving since August 2016. But, in order to continue past 2017, he must run in this year’s election for a full ten-year term. There are four open seats on Superior Court in the upcoming election. In February, the Democratic State Committee endorsed Geoff and three other candidates – Deborah Kunselman, Maria McLaughlin and Carolyn Nichols - for the four open seats on Superior Court. There is one unendorsed candidate running in the Democratic primary, making it all the more important for registered Democrats to get out and vote for Geoff and the other endorsed candidates in the May 16th primary. The good news continued in March when Geoff drew the # 2 ballot position for the primary. Not surprisingly, the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Commission has rated Geoff as Highly Recommended for Superior Court. The PBA rated the other three endorsed Democratic candidates as either Highly Recommended or Recommended and rated the unendorsed candidate as Not Recommended. You can review the full PBA evaluations of all of the candidates for Superior Court here: www.pabar.org/site/Members/Committees/Judicial-Evaluation-Commission/2017-PBA-JEC-Ratings/Superior-Court In addition to the Democratic State Committee’s endorsement, Geoff has also received endorsements to date from the Democratic Committees in the Counties of Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia, as well as the Allegheny County Labor Council, the Democratic Latino Caucus, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, Teamsters Joint Council #53, AFSCME District Council 47, AFSMCE District Council 33, Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council - AFL-CIO, and the Steel City Stonewall Democrats. Although odd-numbered year elections with only statewide judicial candidates on the ballot typically feature low turnout, the new wave of civic engagement in our country has made us optimistic. However, that doesn't meant Geoff is a shoe-in. The current President Judge of Superior Court won her seat on the Court in 2003 by 24 votes. Every vote counts in this election. Because these races can be lower in profile than Gubernatorial or Presidential elections, it is critical for each of us to actively encourage our family and friends to get out and vote for Geoff. For those of you who have already contributed to the campaign, we thank you. If you have not yet contributed, we would welcome your financial support. Checks can be made payable to “Moulton 2017” and sent either to me (c/o Dechert LLP, Cira Centre, 2929 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-2808) or directly to the campaign (Moulton 2017, P.O.
