Based on my separate conversations with Kate and Margaret, they both advise you wait until the divorce is final to release statements. Right now, even though it understandably doesn’t seem that way to you, the patient is stable and the bleeding has stopped. Biggest threat to the patient is a Roxanne story. Kate thinks there is a 50/50 chance she stands down as time passes and she realizes she’s not getting anything. If we put out statements right now - either to her as an exclusive or to someone else - it may prompt Roxanne to revisit the story. Kate and Margaret’s advice is to wait until divorce is final, release the statements then (advice is still to give to Roxanne at that time), and get hopefully a short, more positive “divorce is final” story late on a Friday afternoon. If you release statements prior to divorce being finalized there is a chance you could get two rounds of stories. Your call of course but just wanted to make sure you had Kate and Margaret’s reasoning in front of you. Eric D.
