Earlier this week, news broke that Donald Trump’s administration had deported its first DREAMer that was protected by the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Program. DACA was designed to allow those brought to this country through no fault of their own to go to school or work for a living without fear of deportation. Juan Manuel Montes was doing just that.

What’s even worse is that Juan Montes was deported without being given a reason why. He is now suing the U.S. government for documents explaining why he was deported. DACA was signed by President Obama in 2012 and protects around 750,000 undocumented immigrants. Juan Montes was one of those people.
