Ladies,

Thank you for all your help today. It’s very nice to see some familiar faces in these walk-throughs.

In speaking with BD about the event, he would like to be included in the event in a small way. He is hoping that he could arrive at the designated entrance with the ramp before VPOTUS arrives, then head up the elevator into the VIP hold room. Then, if possible, he would like to meet the recipient, chat with Rick Leach, Hunter Biden, etc. When VP arrives he is hoping they could do a few photos in the hold room. As the program begins, BD would depart. When speaking if Rick or VP would like to mention BD stopping by to congratulate Mr. Kors before the program, that would be great.

Couple of questions:

Would it be possible to stage the award in the hold room for photos before the program begins? If so, this would be an opportunity for BD to be in the big group shot since he will miss the one on stage after the formal program. I understand due to its size/weight it may not be possible. Not something he’s pushing for, just an inquiry.

As far as drop off, is there going to be any issue with the Jeopardy road closures? Would BD’s driver be able to drive into the ellipse to drop him at the ramp entrance? Will there be a valet queue he would be stuck waiting in? I assume we would need to be dropped off before VP arrives so once we get the final time on that I will plan accordingly. Also, since BD is departing before VP, is our driver going to be able to pull up to the ramp entrance again or will USSS have it cordoned off with VP vehicles and not allow John to pass and pick up BD?

I hope none of this is too much trouble. I think with the evening running a little on the late side for a 92 year-old, and a few health blips lately he doesn’t want to push it. He just really wants to thanks his good friend VP Biden for his participation, congratulate the recipient and check in with his friends at WFP. No need to add additional ramps, chairs and logistics for a him to make a brief public appearance. He prefers you all take care of VP and the recipient. If him participating “backstage” causes too much trouble for you all and USSS we can pass, and maybe on Monday do a quick taping if you want to use a video instead.

I mentioned this to Laura earlier, we will travel in a pack of three. BD, his nurse who needs to be with him, and myself (nurse doesn’t quite do well with logistics). I hope this isn’t too big of a crowd.

I will check with Robin and Mrs. Dole if they would like to attend. My guess is that they will pass since he is not planning to stay too long.
