Any chance your guys are going after this? All the best, Matt Chevron to exit Ukraine shale play: reportsTuesday, 16 December 2014 OIL major Chevron will abandon a $US10 billion ($A12.17 billion) shale gas production sharing agreement struck with the Ukrainian government in the more peaceful times of late 2013, according to presidential official Valeriy Chaliy. "There is information that they (Chevron) are planning this decision," Chaliy confirmed to journalists in response to a local media report on the matter according to Reuters. A move by the Ukrainian government to increase taxes for energy companies has been blamed. “We have just delivered to the Ukrainian government our response,” a London-based Chevron spokesperson said. “Therefore it is premature for us to comment." Chevron’s 50-year plan to commercialise the Olesska shale gas field in western Ukraine were expected to include $350 million of exploration investment over the initial two or three years. The Ukraine government, which has long sought more independence from Russian gas supply, struck a similar deal with oil major Royal Dutch Shell in early 2013. “The Shell deal could also be under threat as the gas deposit intended for development is close to the eastern territories now controlled by pro-Russian separatists,” the newswire reported. <AIS-OG_MinEcology-Goncharuk_eng.pdf
