President Donald Trump will meet Tuesday afternoon with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, to discuss his Supreme Court choice, according to an administration official.

Trump has previously said that he plans to nominate a replacement for the late Justice Antonin Scalia during his second week in the White House. On Monday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that "in the next week or so, we should have an update on a nominee."

In recent weeks, Trump has been narrowing his list from an earlier group of 21 judges he'd said he would choose from.

Schumer has drawn a hard line on confirming any Trump pick to the Supreme Court. He told Rachel Maddow in early January, "It's hard for me to imagine a nominee that Donald Trump would choose that would get Republican support that we could support."

The meeting with McConnell, Schumer and Feinstein is currently scheduled for 45 minutes in the Roosevelt Room. Trump is slated to meet privately with McConnell afterward in the Oval Office.
