Dear Friend:

About a week ago, I ran into an old acquaintance on my way to work. He
congratulated me on being “back in business”, and then he did something a
lot of people do: He told me about a problem. His firm was thinking of
doing business with someone who had a reputation for corrupt behavior, and
he wasn’t sure if the reputation was deserved. Could I help, he asked?
