Hi folks,

I’m listing out all of the BBF events for 2017 (that we have now). I’ve noted with an asterisk the events Patty and I hope the VP and/or Dr. B could attend. But I defer to Hallie and Hunter if these events warrant asking VP/Dr. B to attend.

*Saturday, March 18, 10 am - 12 pm. BBF Trail Run at Granogue, (2830 Montchanin Road, Wilmington, DE). Last year, we had over 500 runners for this event. I suspect we’ll have 700+ this year. We hope to have a video crew on hand to film this as well.

*Saturday, March 25, 7 - 9 pm. BBF Night at the Delaware 87ers (NBA-D league team) (Bob Carpenter Center, 631 South College Ave, Newark, DE 19716). This is an exciting night of engagement for the BBF. The 87ers will be wearing BBF branded jerseys, our logo will be on center court, we’ll have programming running before and during the game, we’ll have Patty at center court at half time talking about the foundation, and in the broadcast booth in the 2nd half doing the same. This is a televised game. We expect thousands of kids to be served at this game.

Wednesday, March 29, 6-7:30 pm. Chase Center on the Riverfront. Anti-Defimation Philadelphia Chapter’s Beau Biden SHIELD Award, honoring law enforcement in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. The Beau Biden SHIELD Award recognizes local, state and federal officers who have made strides against hate in the region, including: combating hate groups, extremism and terrorism; preventing and/or responding to hate crimes and bias motivated activity; and promoting civil rights. Note: This is not a BBF event.

Friday, March 31 & Saturday April 1, 2017. BBF+Red Clay School District + Wilmington News Journal Conference on Keeping Delaware’s Children Safe (Cab Calloway School of the Arts, 100 N Dupont Rd, Wilmington). Details are still coming to gather on this. But the idea now is that Friday evening will be a panel discussion and keynote and Saturday will be workshops (including two or tree BBF programs).

Mid-Summer. BBF and Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation day at the Park (Wilmington Blue Rocks Stadium). We’ll have Cal Ripken Foundation programming, BBF programming, law enforcement demonstrations, etc. This is all coming together in the next month. Details to follow, and we can make a recommendation as to whether its worth VP/Dr. B attending at that point.

*Monday, September 25, 10 am - 8 pm. 3rd Annual BBF Golf Outing (Wilm. CC and Biderman Golf Club, Wilmington). Same format as the last two years.

*Sunday November 19, time TBD. First annual BBF 5k on the Riverfront. We just agreed to do this yesterday, so details are still frothing coming.

Additionally, I can think of half a dozen one off opportunities for engagement in our programming. For example, stopping by a Boys & Girls Club that’s running our Safe To Compete programing, coming to one of the Stewards of Children trainings we do for Brandywine School District, visiting a school with us for one of our NetSmartz discussions. These would be incredible press opportunities for us, and we’d love the opportunity to build something nice for them.

Thank you! I look forward to continue to work with you all.
