Home Coming Dance
As you know, the Homecoming Dance is this Saturday, October 23.
Parents are needed to help pour water and staff the coatrooms from 8:15 - 11:00 pm. If you would like to volunteer, please email Jamie Baldinger at jamiebaldinger@gmail.com<mailto:jamiebaldinger@gmail.com>
In addition - parents are welcome to help decorate on Friday, October 22 beginning at 2:30pm inside the cafeteria.

Meet the Administration
This Thursday October 21, there will be an early morning meeting (formerly called "Coffee") at 7:30 am in the US Dining Room - "Meet the Administration." This was originally listed on the calendar as "11/12th grade parents" but actually includes the entire upper school.
Parent Peer Group Meeting
The first 11th Grade Parent Peer group meeting is scheduled next Tuesday, October 26 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at US Room 104/106.

Update from Administration

Homework policy was reviewed at the Parents Association Steering Committee Meeting October 18, 2010. The administration stressed that the goal is 45 minutes of homework per class per night maximum, and there is a night off for each subject mandated once during the week. If there are home work concerns parents are asked to contact the student's advisor to discuss.

Update from the Prom Committee:

Plans are ongoing for this year's prom for 11th and 12th grade students. The classes were surveyed and results have lead to the current plan for a dinner dance to take place again at the National Press Club. The after party will take place on campus in the new gymnasium. Transportation will be provided back and forth to the Press Club from Sidwell Friends School.
