Members of the Boards,

As we all look forward to our upcoming Board meetings on June 22nd, I'm
happy to share a few updates on our annual conference, June 23-25 in
Washington DC. Friday's public keynotes will be given by Ambassador Wendy
Sherman, who will speak to the future of the Iran Nuclear Agreement, and
Congressman Adam Schiff, who continues to be at the center of
investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

*Day by Day Highlights: *

Friday will feature two keynotes: a morning address by *Ambassador Wendy
Sherman* and afternoon remarks from *Representative Adam Schiff*. We will
also take time to highlighting five Truman member's stories of resistance
as they elaborate on the ways in which their involvement with Truman drives
their personal and professional goals in this current landscape.

Saturday will feature an internally focused keynote from Marlon Marshall
(Founding Partner, 270 Strategies & former Director of States & Political
Engagement, Hillary Clinton 2016 Presidential Campaign) as well as sessions
focused on topics that thematically tie in to Truman's 2017 organizing
goals. Sessions topics include: The Evolution of Russian Hybrid Warfare;
Winning in Middle America - How Progressive Can Succeed in 2018 and Beyond;
“Fake News” and the Age of Misinformation; Defending Democracy: Movement
Building; and Organizing for Diverse Communities.

Sunday's member-generated content will expand on educational material from
Saturday and will empower the membership to plan both a personal path to
engagement and to strategize on their Chapter's path forward. Some
Sessions center
on knowledge transfer between the membership to allow for personal plan
development while other sessions will use similar cross-session
facilitation methods to guide action planning for Chapters for the reminder
of 2017. Session titles include: Mobilizing for the Grasstops; Bringing
Women, Peace, and Security to the Homefront; So You Think You Want to Run?;
Defending Against Disinformation; Con Law 101: How Lawyers Can Help You
Save America; Beyond the Photo-Op: Effectively Engaging with Faith-Based
Communities; How to Protect Your Dissent; and Making Sense of Trump: An
Indication and Warning System.
