Here’s Starkey’s first run at the story: Beau Biden joins Dem donor's law firm Former Attorney General Beau Biden, who left office after two four-year terms last week with plans to run for governor in 2016, has already landed a gig in the private sector. Biden is joining Grant & Eisenhofer, the law firm run by Stuart Grant, the prominent Democratic donor and plaintiffs' lawyer. Biden will work in G&E's Wilmington offices. "I've known Stuart and Jay Eisenhofer for many years and have watched as their firm has grown into one of the nation's preeminent champions for investors, serving many of the same constituents and causes I worked for as attorney general," Biden said in a written statement provided by the firm. It's unclear what the new job means for Biden's stated plans to run for Delaware's highest office in 2016. Biden has declined repeated requests for interviews and has been conspicuously absent from the public since health problems in 2013. Grant said in a written statement that the firm's clients will "benefit enormously" from addition of Biden. "Beau was at the forefront of legal actions brought nationally against shady mortgage issuance that caused the collapse of the U.S. housing market," Grant said. "And he pursued major ratings agencies, financial institutions, insurance companies and other parties for their own misconduct with borrowers and investors. Given our long advocacy on behalf of shareholders and investors damaged by corporate fraud and malfeasance, Beau's successful record of service, enforcement and tangible results align perfectly with those of our firm." Grant's firm had business before the Attorney General's office while Biden was in charge, including a whistle-blower lawsuit that could result in a significant payday for the firm. It will go out today, around 9 am. Jon Starkey, from the News Journal, will get a 10 minute heads up. Beau has a quote in the release, and that’s the only comment we’ll have. Stuart Grant will be available this morning to talk with reporters who may have questions - Stuart’s focus will be on the firms growing Whistle Blower practice, something he hopes Beau will help build. > If you have any questions for me, give me a call.
