A jaw-dropping 128,000 Iowans could lose their care if Senate passes Trumpcare, based on Congressional Budget Office projections.

Meanwhile, Governor Reynolds is struggling to patch up her disastrous Medicaid privatization scheme, wreaking havoc on our state budget and leaving even covered Iowans without access to the treatment and medications they need.

Iowans deserve better.

It's time for a bold new plan that will ensure more Iowans have access to affordable care. It's time for Medicaid for all.

Under a Medicaid for all plan, individuals who don't have access to insurance or are dissatisfied with their current health care plan will be allowed to buy into Medicaid. This type of public option will deliver more choices for Iowans and real competition across the state, delivering higher-quality health care at more competitive costs.

It's a common sense solution that already made it through Nevada's legislature, where legislators voted to put people ahead of politics.

Here in Iowa, Democratic legislators have already put out a proposal. As governor, I will fight for and sign legislation to make it a reality and end Governor Reynolds' reckless privatization mess.
