Andre Heinz getting married this weekend in Sweden

Andre Heinz, the son of Teresa Heinz Kerry and the late U.S. Sen. H. John
Heinz III, is tying the knot this weekend in Stockholm, Sweden.

Mr. Heinz, 46, who in October will become chairman of the Heinz family’s
charitable foundation, the Heinz Endowments, is marrying Maria
Marteinsdottir of Iceland.

The middle son of Mrs. Heinz and the late senator is an environmental
advocate who has lived and worked in Stockholm overseeing a nonprofit
focused on sustainable development and an investment firm that targets
investments in renewable energy and materials.

The endowments declined to comment.

Mr. Heinz’s stepfather, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, is attending
the wedding, according to a European news website, The Local.

Mr. Kerry married Teresa Heinz in 1995.

In May, Ms. Marteinsdottir was a guest of Mr. Kerry’s at a State Department
working luncheon with Nordic leaders in Washington, D.C., during which he
told the group he looked forward to being in Stockholm this summer for her
wedding to Andre Heinz.

Mrs. Heinz said in May she would step down in October as chair of the
endowments, which has assets of $1.6 billion. Her three sons, all current
board members of the endowments, will fill the chairman’s seat in a series
of four-year rotations beginning with Andre Heinz.
