Sacred America, Sacred World is a manifesto for a "transpartisan" America
As the 2016 election approaches, our country is spiraling into a dysfunction that
threatens us all, including our allies around the world. The two-party system, sprung
from the aims of democracy, has become violently divisive, nearly to the point where
there are two Americas, each at the other's throat. America is being pulled apart,
and every citizen feels the pain from this profoundly. When did political discourse
become a boxing match? How did America, founded on the highest of principles of
justice and freedom, get so far off course? And, most importantly, is it too late
to repair the damage and get back on track?
According to leaders of the fast-growing transpartisan movement, it's not too late
to jump-start our country's forward progress. Americans can transcend these damaging
polarities-but only if we can hold to a vision that honors the ideals of both the
left and the right, leaves behind their excesses, and embraces our country's evolution,
both politically and spiritually.
One of this movement's most articulate champions is Stephen Dinan, a successful
businessman and social innovator whose new book Sacred America, Sacred World: Fulfilling
Our Mission in Service to All (Hampton Roads Publishing, July 2016) is considered
"a compelling blueprint. ... A visionary work of the highest order," by James O'Dea,
former Director of Amnesty International.
Stephen Dinan creates a new road map for our country, a new envisioning process
- a process that makes it's citizens as critical as its leaders and allows America
to fulfill its original promises
================================================================================

STEPHEN DINAN
Stephen Dinan, a noted social entrepreneur and visionary political strategist, is
the founder and CEO of The Shift Network, a leading global provider of online transformational
courses and trainings. He was previously a senior staffer at the Institute of Noetic
Sciences (IONS), where he was the driving force behind the Shift in Action program;
and at the Esalen Institute, where he directed and helped to create the Center for
Theory and Research-a think tank for scholars, researchers, and teachers to explore
human potential frontiers. A graduate of Stanford University, Dinan also holds a
master's in East-West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
He is a member of the prestigious Transformational Leadership Council and Evolutionary
Leaders groups, and the author of Radical Spirit: Spiritual Writings from the Voices
of Tomorrow (New World Library, 2002). Dinan resides in the San Francisco Bay Area
with his family.
He is the author of Radical Spirit and Sacred America, Sacred World

"The difference between a cockeyed optimist and a visionary is that one encourages
us to sit back while the other inspires us to commit to a vision and take action.
In Sacred America, Sacred World Stephen Dinan offers us a highly compelling blueprint
to engage in deep and totally achievable global transformation. This is a visionary
work of the highest order."
-James O'Dea, former Director of Amnesty International, D.C.; author, The Conscious
Activist
SUZAN SHOWN HARJO
Suzan Shown Harjo, Cheyenne and Hodulgee Muscogee, is an advocate for American Indian
rights. She is a poet, writer, lecturer, curator, and policy advocate, who has helped
Native peoples recover more than one million acres (4,000 km²) of tribal lands.
After co-producing the first Indian news show in the nation for WBAI radio while
living in New York City, and producing other shows and theater, in 1974 she moved
to Washington, DC, to work on national policy issues. She served as Congressional
liaison for Indian affairs in the President Jimmy Carter administration and later
as president of the National Council of American Indians.
Harjo is President of the Morning Star Institute, a national Native American rights
organization. Since the 1960s, she has worked on getting sports teams to drop names
that promote negative stereotypes of Native Americans. In June 2014, the Patent
and Trademark Officerevoked the Washington Redskins trademark; the owner said he
would appeal. By 2013 two-thirds of teams with American Indian mascots had changed
them due to these public campaigns.
On November 24, 2014, Harjo received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United
States' highest civilian honor.
KRISTIN HOFFMAN
Starting at the age of 4 Juilliard trained multi-instrumentalist Kristin Hoffmann
began building a prolific career in music. She studied opera with acclaimed teachers
Lorraine Nubar and Zehava Gal and composition with Rob Mathes and Behzad Ranjbaran.
With a particular interest in French art songs, Kristin spent a summer honing the
craft at Académie Internationale d'été de Nice. In addition to stints at major record
labels, Capitol and Interscope Records, and song placements on hit TV shows like
Dawson's Creek and Palmetto Pointe, she has shared stages with The Wallflowers,
Feist, Brandi Carlile, Richie Havens and many other musical luminaries. With a
strong sense of artistic altruism, she is most passionate about projects that explore
music's healing power and allow listeners to tap into their higher potentials.
Having studied with French Sound Healing pioneer Fabian Maman, Hoffmann not only
made music to accompany acupuncture sessions but also composed 170 songs for health-challenged
children as a writer/producer at non-profit organization Songs of Love. A spokesperson
for ocean conservation, she has performed her Song for the Ocean at environmental
awareness conventions and concerts around the world, including TEDxSF, Bioneers,
Hermanus Whale Festival (South Africa) and with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
in London. Song for the Ocean will next be performed at The Sydney Opera House in
August 2016. In 2011 she became the singer for Bella Gaia, a multimedia immersive
theater experience created in conjunction with NASA. Over the past 2 years she has
continued to expand her worldly voice, guest blogging for many well-respected magazines,
from Elephant Journal to The Ecologist, and performing at The Conscious Life Expo
(LA), the signing of The Fuji Declaration (Mt. Fuji) and The Emoto Peace Project
concert in Tokyo. In 2014, Kristin was invited to become the youngest member on
the board of FIONS (Friends of Institute of Noetic Sciences). In early 2016, she
was voted onto the board of Gandhi Global Center for Peace and was also a new inductee
into the acclaimed group Evolutionary Leaders. Her most recent work includes a self-produced
album entitled The Human Compass, a symphonic collaboration with composer Marco
Missinato called Unfolding Secrets: A Symphony of the Heart, and the brand new release
of the meditational film, "Amazing Space," for which Kristin composed and produced
the soundtrack. In October 2015, Kristin began a new monthly musical blog with Gandhi's
BE Magazine, called "BE~Cause: Music with a Message," and has been creating a new
song every month focused around important worldly issues and themes.
