All, I want to make sure that you receive NDI’s latest report on the Promise of Democratization in Hong Kong. Representatives of NDI, including Board member Howard Dean, met with members of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, political parties, academia, the press, and broadly representative civil society organizations to discuss the political environment in Hong Kong. The various perspectives presented to NDI’s team of representatives informed the drafting of the sixteenth volume of NDI’s Promise of Democratization in Hong Kong report series. Titled “The Uncertain Future of ‘One Country, Two Systems,’” <https://www.ndi.org/Promise_of_Democratization_Hong_Kong> this report provides an overview of key political events from the past four years, examines specific challenges facing Hong Kong’s democratization process, and assesses the territory’s progress in pursuit of democracy. It is NDI’s hope that the report’s findings generate further dialogue among those interested in, and affected by Hong Kong’s current challenges to democratization. We hope you find the report informative. Needless to say, we would welcome your views.
