Dear 10th Grade Parents:Apologies for another e-mail! We’d like to add one more event to the “ key dates” e-mail we circulated the other day:Monday, October 17, 7 pm, in the Robert L. Smith Meeting RoomParent Workshop on Equity, Justice, and Community with Philip McAdoo and Gyasi Ross Open to parents of all three divisions, this workshop wil contribute to the strategic planning process and will focus on the following questions: What positives can come out of a greater focus on equity, justice, and community at Sidwell Friends School, and what concerns/issues do you foresee? If you could create this program in any way you wanted to, what would it look like, how would it operate, and how would you feel about being part of it? What three wishes for the future do you have for equity, justice, and community at Sidwell Friends School?We’d also like to take this opportunity to underline what Mamadou said about Saturday’s homecoming dance in the last newsletter, namely that dates are not required and students are encouraged to attend with groups of friends. We all want homecoming to be a fun event for all! In this regard, it is also great when “pre-parties” before the dance are as inclusive as possible.We look forward to seeing everyone at Saturday’s events, starting with the All-Community Meeting for Worship from 10.30-11.30 am.Your 10th grade reps,Jackie Becker, Mark Dorfman, Kavita Sethi, and Tessa van der Willigen
