Dear President’s Council members,

Please save the date for our annual Christmas Mass and Reception. The Mass and Reception will once again be held at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church located at 6900 River Road., Bethesda on Thursday, December 8th at 4:30 pm .

Please look for a Paperless Post evite at arrive in late October with specific details. We hope you and the members of your family will be able to attend as we celebrate the Feast of Immaculate Conception and the beginning of the Advent season.

In other news, Ann Davis and Lynda Camalier have graciously volunteered to manage the sponsoring of 100 families for Catholic Charities’ Angel Tree program.

Catholic Charities cares for hundreds of adults who are parents with little capacity to provide gifts for their children at Christmas. The Angel Tree allows parents to obtain a gift to give to each of their children on Christmas. This contributes to a sense of dignity and fulfilling one’s responsibility as a parent. The Angel Tree also allows people of good will to provide gifts for the children of the people in our care.

Here’s how you can help: starting the first week of November make a commitment on the Angel Tree website to provide a specific child (or all the children in a family) with a Christmas gift. In early December bring your gift to an Angel Tree gift drop off site that will be in your area. We will send you reminders and specific details about the date and location of the Angel Tree gift drop off site in the near future.
