The Landon Lecture series at Kansas State University is one of the premiere lecture series in the US. It is named after Nancy Kassebaum's dad, AlfLandon. Bill Clinton, both Bush Presidents, Jimmy Carter and hundreds of other distinguished luminaries have spoken at the lecture. It was the site of Bobby Kennedy's first speech after he announced for President in 1968. K-State is located in Manhattan, Kansas where there is a commercial airport.

The Lecture committee is sending your dad an invite to speak on a topic of his choice sometime during the first two weeks of December of this year. I highly recommend that he look at this invite seriously. I would love to join you and your dad if he can make it. Lots of publicity, big crowd and big impact.

WE would like him the first 2 weeks of Dec if that is not possible we can then look at other dates. We need to do it when the students are on campus and cannot do it during finals week which is the third week of Dec. They then leave and do not come back until the 17th of Jan.

The 50th Anniversary is in early Dec.

The letter will go out this week and we will send you a copy. As always I appreciate your help.

I assume you are just as appalled with this election as I am. God help this old country if Trump gets elected. BF

The scheduler from the WH called the K-State President's office this afternoon and informed us that POTUS cannot do a Landon at this time.

So we are going to send an invite to VP Biden and Nancy will call him direct. Dan you can inform Hunter if you think appropriate.
