Reem al-Hashimy was sworn in as Minister of State, Government of the United Arab Emirates in February 2008. In addition to her ministerial duties, she manages the International Affairs Unit of the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. She also serves as the Chairperson of Dubai Cares, the largest non-governmental organization in the world dedicated to primary education.

Minister al-Hashimy previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the United States. In this capacity, she worked on a broad spectrum of issues related to the US-UAE bilateral relationship, including economic, security, trade, and social issues. Prior to her position as Deputy Chief of Mission, she served as Commercial Attaché at the Embassy. In this position, she participated in the Free Trade Agreement negotiations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States. She also coordinated outreach programs to key stakeholders in the business, academic and political community.

Minister Al-Hashimy earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and French from Tufts University. She holds a Masters Degree from Harvard University.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamood Albusaidi has served as Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2007. Prior to his current position, he served as Under Secretary from 2000 to 2007. He was Head of the Ministers Office Department from 1997 to 2000. In 1996 he was promoted to Ambassador and in 1990 he was promoted to Counselor. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989 as First Secretary, in which capacity he established the Office of Political Analysis.

Secretary General Sayyid Badr has represented Oman at many international meetings and forums, including the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab League, the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organisation of the Islamic Conference. His leadership in negotiations with the United States over labor laws was instrumental for Oman to join the World Trade Organisation and the establishment of the United States-Oman Free Trade Agreement. In 1994, during the active phase of the Middle East Peace Process, His Excellency represented Oman in the country's first official talks with Israel.

Secretary General Sayyid Badr earned a Master of Letters in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from St. Catherine's College at Oxford University.
