Come and learn why the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is so effective in its emergency response activities, and how WFP’s logistics expertise make it the leader among all humanitarian agencies whenever a disaster strikes.

Kevin Howley has more than a decade of experience with WFP and has been deployed to a number of emergencies, most notably Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar in May 2008, as well as crisis situations in Zambia, Uganda, Bangladesh and the Philippines.

In his current role, he works with countries to anticipate and prepare for emergencies using cutting edge technology and simulation exercises based on real life experience. Some of this technology is being used today in response to the flooding in Pakistan.
