Dear Hunter, The Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) in partnership with and the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce a multi-city tour with U.S. Ambassadors serving in the Middle East. We invite you at this time to register for the Conference and Tribute Dinner, which will kick off the 5-day tour in New York City on Monday, October 18th, 2010. Registration is available on a first-come first-serve basis and early registration is strongly encouraged. About the Tour: The U.S.-Middle East Business and Export Promotion Tour will take place from October 18th to October 22nd, 2010, and will feature U.S. Ambassadors serving in the following countries: Algeria, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. This program will showcase growth sectors in the region and provide unique opportunities for companies to develop strategies that increase U.S. exports and expand business in the Middle East. An inaugural conference and special Tribute Dinner will kick off the tour in New York City on Monday, October 18th. The tour will then take place October 19th -22nd and will feature two teams of Ambassadors that will embark on separate itineraries to the following cities: Milwaukee, Chicago and Houston; or Seattle and San Francisco. Identified sectors of focus include: • Healthcare, Biomedical and Medical Devices • Energy: Oil & Gas, Renewable, Green Building, Smart Grid and Energy Efficiency Technologies • Information and Communication Technologies • Transportation Systems • Water Efficiency Technologies This tour is undertaken as part of the National Export Initiative launched by President Obama to double U.S. exports and add two million jobs to the American economy. The participating Ambassadors are returning to the U.S. for one week for the singular purpose of leading this tour and gaining intelligence that will inform the activities of the U.S. government in support of U.S. commercial interests in the region.
