Dear Fellow WFP USA Board Members, We are thrilled to report that to date we have raised $236,000 in sponsorships for the Awards Ceremony featuring Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. This is more than we have ever raised for the George McGovern Award presentation! As you know, though, we had a goal of $300,000 - so we still have a ways to go. And that is where each of you come in. I know several of you have been working with the WFP USA staff on securing sponsorships, but we still have to get them in. Bonnie's Best Buy sponsorship is excellent as it is a totally new one, so it both brings in money now and allows us the chance to begin a new dialogue with a corporation that has the ability to continue to support us into the future. If each of us could secure a sponsorship of $5,000 or more, we would exceed our goal. As you know, the funds we raise from Awards Ceremony sponsorship is totally unrestricted: WFP USA can use it however we need it. You have all seen the numbers: you know how important unrestricted funding is to us as an organization. Please make a last push to get in at least one sponsor each. The team at the office will do whatever they can to support you. I look forward to seeing you all there and at the Board meeting on 10/6 and celebrating a fantastic event. Thanks, Rand
