We are on the road back home after the first debate of the Attorney General's race in Wichita. As you'll read in the papers tomorrow, Steve Six was the clear winner.<br>

Steve proved again and again that he has the right experience to keep Kansans safe from criminals like scam artists and child predators. Like he has since his very first day in office almost three years ago, Steve focused on real results for Kansans.<br>

Derek Schmidt spent his time talking about his experience as a career politician.<br>

Today Derek Schmidt had to defend a record that includes his funeral picketing bill - which the Kansas Supreme Court threw out as unconstitutional. <br>

While Schmidt admitted that he was more concerned about politics than about standing up against the Phelps family, Steve spoke about how the first thing he did as Attorney General was work with legislators to craft a constitutional funeral picketing ban.<br>

Steve is now leading the fight against the Phelps family and Westboro Baptist in the United Supreme Court, and because of his leadership 48 fellow Attorneys General have joined him in the fight.<br>

Derek Schmidt also has a history of voting against vital public safety funding, like the important funding that is eliminating the KBI's DNA backlog for the arrestee database. Schmidt also voted against restoring funding for the forensic psychologists whose work is key in keeping sexually violent predators off the streets.<br>

<strong>Let's send a message to Derek Schmidt that his experience playing politics and cutting critical public safety initiatives is not what Kansans are looking for in their Attorney General. Kansans want a leader like Steve Six who makes keeping Kansans safe his number one priority.</strong><br>
