For too many of our friends and neighbors, having a full-time job is no longer a path to the American dream. The number of working-poor families - people with full-time jobs or several part-time jobs who cannot make ends meet - is growing faster than the middle class.

Today, one in six Americans are poor - the highest rate we've seen since the 1960s. There are common sense ways we can help reverse this trend. That's why I'm cosponsoring a bill to make permanent key tax cuts that offer real support for working families living on the edge, but I need your help.

The middle class is being left out of the recovery, while the very people who caused the crash are getting richer than ever.
