This interesting and potentially life-saving one-hour training is open to the community. Monday, March 4, 2019 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Our regularly scheduled, parent and family support group meeting will follow Floris United Methodist Church (Fellowship Hall - 3rd Floor) 13600 Frying Pan Road Herndon, VA 20171 Go up the hill to the main church entrance. Enter through the far right door. Event Background The Chris Atwood Foundation was created in 2013 after the Atwood family of Northern Virginia lost their 21 year old son and brother, Chris, to an accidental fatal overdose. Chris was a shining light to many of his friends because he wanted to get away from his addiction, and to prevent others from using. Among other initiatives, the foundation works to combat the stigma associated with addiction and supports recovery organizations on college campuses. Chris's sister, Virginia Lovitt, is determined to get life-saving naloxone into the trained hands of family members and friends of those struggling with opiate addiction.
