At this point in my campaign four years ago, my Tea Party opponent hadn't yet won the nomination, and she hadn't yet raised $7 million in six weeks.

While we did not know what was coming, what we did have was a plan: to talk to voters, hear their concerns, spread our message and build a ground game to get our supporters to the polls.

We'll have to take that plan nationwide this year to keep the Democratic Senate majority. With folks like the Koch brothers set to spend $125 million, we'll never outspend the other side - so we have to invest wisely.

For us to protect the Democratic majority in November, I need you to help us raise $15,000 by May 31. Here are two races where the Super PACs are spending obscene amounts to defeat Democratic candidates, and where your investment can make the most difference:

• Sen. Al Franken (Minnesota): A new Super PAC was launched with the express purpose of defeating Al. If we lose him, our Senate majority's at risk. Plus, he's one of the colleagues I know I can count on to stand in defense of our values. For him to defend his record from the Super PAC attacks, he needs our help right away.

• Michelle Nunn (Georgia): Michelle was the CEO of the largest organization in the world dedicated to volunteer service. She knows how to get things done. A bruising Republican primary pulled her would-be opponents to the far right, making this a prime Democratic pickup. We have to be there to make sure Michelle can take advantage of this.

• We don't know what's coming in our race, but we've been through enough together here in Delaware to know we have to stay ready for anything. Can you help build our campaign by donating now?

I spend every day giving all I have to serve this country and fight for our values. We need reinforcements. We need to win Delaware, Minnesota and Georgia to keep Democratic control of the Senate and move forward on the things that matter to us.
