We wanted to share the following exciting news from this week regarding Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners and Portfolio Company, Counsyl with you and the rest of the Morgan Stanley Team. Jamey and Neha we will call this week to follow up on next steps regarding RSTP II, L.P., Morgan Stanley would be an important limited partner for our team going forward. > > Here is a summary of this past week’s News and Events: > > 1. United Healthcare Test Approval: While interviewing CFO candidates at the company over the weekend, management gave us the update that our introduction to United Healthcare appears to be paying off. Confidentially, Counsyl has received an in-network agreement with UHC that they expect will be executed this week. With UHC, Counsyl will have in-network status at all major insurers in the US which is a huge milestone for the company, bringing them to 160mm in network covered lives. Please treat with highest confidentiality as this has not been announced. > > 2. Non-Invasive Prenatal Test: Counsyl’s third to hit Market Q3: Counsyl will have its third test, NIPT (Non-invasive prenatal test for down syndrome, an amniocentesis replacement) in the market by Q3, 2014, earlier than planned. This will be brought to market through a partnership with Illumina, which is one of Counsyl's strategic investors. The introduction of this test earlier than planned has significant positive implications for 2014 financial performance. There will likely be a press release to announce this in Q3. > > 3. Strategic Marketing Partnership Program: RSTP will provide introductions for Counsyl to the Susan Komen Foundation and Brightpink.com. A call is scheduled with the company on 6/2 with Ramji and team discuss specifics and a roadmap for partnering with each organization. A partnership with one of both of these organizations will provide a specific call to action and drive brand awareness and sales volume. > > 4. China Market Entry: We have a call scheduled with Counsyl on 6/5 including our Business Development Team and Shirley Young. Shirley brought GM into China and is under consideration as an outside board member. We will discuss the regulatory and tactical roadmap for entering China. We will also cover potential strategic partners and investors who we believe could be helpful to Counsyl in these efforts. Among other introductions coming out of this call, we will connect Counsyl with the largest pediatric network in China and largest government approved cancer treatment centers, with whom we met during our Bus Dev trip to Beijing earlier this year. > > 5. Counsyl Board Member Update: We have introduced Ramji to RSTP LP, Bob Cohn of Sequoia. Bob is under consideration as the RSTP outside board member. Ramji and the founding team have huge respect for Bob given his background as the founder/CEO of Octel and having commercialized voicemail and build a multi-billion company before selling it to Lucent and becoming a Sequoia partner. Bob has expressed a willingness to join the board although he is generally not taking board seats these days as he manages his family office. Bob and Ramji have lunch on the calendar on 6/6. > > We look forward to our continued work together on Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners, we would like to see if we can schedule a time to you to speak with our portfolio company CEOs. > > Best regards, > > Will > > William Lee, Managing Director > Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners (RSTP) > 333 Bush Street, 21st Floor > San Francisco, California 94104 > Office: 415.767.1289 > Mobile: 617.407.5958 > www.rstp.com > > This email communication is privileged and confidential and is intended only for the individuals or entities named above.
