Dear Colleagues,

We have overcome a major roadblock to our progress.

Last night, the School Board agreed, in an executive session, to give us
more time to develop and secure a university partner. The details of this
extension will be memorialized in a letter from Tisha Edwards. Without
knowing the details of the extension, we have a green light to:

1) officially delay the opening of BCSB to SY 2015/16;
2) Negotiate with Tisha Edwards for support of our principal during the
planning year; and
3) Re-engage our fundraising and school planning efforts.

I am very hopeful that City Schools will change its position on the
conditions requirement requested by the Federal DoE. City Schools, BCSB and
lawyers from DoE will discuss the conditions statement during a conference
call tentatively scheduled for June 4th.

We have worked long and hard as a team for this positive outcome. I'm very
confident that we can reach our new milestone(s) and stay on pace to open a
great school.
