Later today, Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee. It will be behind closed doors - the first of three testimonies before Congress this week.

Here's the truth: The Mueller investigation is closing in on Trump. Every day its grip tightens on a campaign associate or a family member. Every day it gets closer to Trump himself.

This week it will tighten further as Congress finds out why Michael Cohen lied to Congress and what, if anything, Trump instructed him to do.

The testimony will be another reminder about the importance of Congress taking action to let the Mueller investigation conclude at its own pace.
