Following are notes from Liz Britton ( VASRA Waiver/Team Roster) and Gus Bessalel ( Parking Meters for practice at TBC ). Please take a moment to read through the entire note so you don't miss anything. VASRA Waiver Below is the link for signing the VASRA waivers. It is pretty straightforward but you do need Brooke's e-mail address, bkennedy2@yahoo.com , and full name BROOKE KENNEDY to complete the second part of the waiver. For new families, and for those of us who have forgotten, we are a member of the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (VASRA) and we compete in a number of regattas that they organize including the Virginia State Rowing Championship. The VASRA waiver allows us to compete in these races. Sharon and I must sign a statement that all our rowers have completed their waivers before we are allowed to race. If one rower has not signed their waiver then the whole team can be pulled from the schedule. Again, we appreciate your patience with all this paperwork. We are nearly done with it! Maybe just one more waiver later on for Stotesbury. http://signyourwaiver.com/ Team Roster Parent Monika Rosenfeld is putting together a team roster. Please review the attached draft roster and forward any additions or changes to your information directly to Monika at mrradr@aol.com . A final copy will be sent to everyone after editing. Please contact me if you have any questions about the VASRA waiver. Thank you for your patience as we work through the many items necessary to get the team up and running for the season. Liz Britton ebrit@prodigy.net Parking Meter Program Hi All, Today, we kicked off the meter feeding program with pretty good results, though we did have a couple of glitches. Parking enforcement seems to have tightened up (two of our cars were ticketed today), so we'd like to iron out the wrinkles so that by next week when we resume practice on the water, we have this down. First, for those listed below, if you want the meter brigade to feed your meters, I need your car info to make sure we can find your car and keep you from getting parking tickets. Please provide car make and model, color, tag# and state. Patricia Solleveld Madeline Chone Rachel Gray Second, it appears there was a little difficulty finding a few cars today. Carol Boochever said that the best place to park is on 29th street, so if possible try to park there as you get 20 minutes per quarter and if all the cars are clustered, the meter feeder's job will be easier. If you can't park there, then try K St, 30th, Thomas Jefferson or 31st. Also, make sure to mark your passenger side mirror with a ribbon (I believe these were handed out and were pink and blue). Third, so far only 8 families have signed up to provide meter feeders, so we have MANY days not covered, which could result in many tickets for the girls and coaches. While the program is not mandatory, it won't work unless people are willing to go down to Georgetown a couple of times during the season. In consideration for the families of drivers who are making life easier for the rest of us by taking our girls to practice and/or to school after , I would encourage families of riders to sign up for 3-4 days. If we do that, we'll be in great shape. Sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/parking12 . It just takes a minute or two. The sooner you sign up, the more likely you will get the days that work for your schedule. Finally, if you have signed up for a day and can't make it, please do your best to find a replacement or swap with someone or let me know in advance. Thanks to all for helping to make this work.
