We will learn how to approach backbends with exercises for opening, mobility, and flexibility for our spine, our shoulders, our upper back; as well as for our hip flexors, psoas, hips, and hamstrings. We will learn different drills and variations of these exercises for our own body, as well as learning more of our own anatomy and what we need to work on in our own bodies, and what works for each of us individually. We will also develop a mini warm up sequence that will help us incorporate what we have learn to our daily practice. We will work with postures that strengthen both our back and our core so as to be able to sustain a healthy and sustainable practice of backbends. We will work individually to internalize what we learn, and in pairs to be able to learn from different bodies and proportions. ** Into the Ohm Community Workshop (https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/ws?studioid=734764&stype=-8&sView=day&sLoc=0) ------------------------------------------------------------ River Davis (https://www.riverdavis.com/yoga) The Yoga Shala (https://www.theyogashaladc.com/) Friday, March 1st 7:45pm-9:15pm $5 suggested donation A community-based workshop that brings yoga practitioners together to share in the deepening practice of the Om mantra.
