Dear ONE Team,


It is with a real sense of sadness on our part – tempered with excitement
for him – that I have to tell you that our Chief of Staff, Josh Lozman,
will be leaving ONE soon. Josh has been with DATA and then ONE for more
than four years. He came to Washington with the goal of working for the
White House and now he's going to get his chance. Starting in a few weeks,
he will be the new Chief of Staff of the National Economic Council. He will
now be (a friendly, we hope) lobby target of ours.


Josh has played many roles at ONE. He has led our global health work for
more than three years, including our engagement with the Global Fund during
the last replenishment period and expanding ONE's health agenda to include
vaccines. For the last two years, he has taken on additional
responsibilities as our Chief of Staff, working closely with Josh Bolten
toensure that the interim leadership period was not disruptive to ONE's
work. He has been extraordinarily helpful to me from the moment I arrived
at ONE – in fact, from well before I came in the door – and I am truly
grateful to him. Josh has helped build a strong front office for our
organization with a terrific staff that will be critical in a time of
transition.


Assuming his processing goes quickly, and the White House displays the
efficiency for which Washington is not always a byword, next Friday will
likely be Josh's last full day in the office. But he will continue to be
available to us for a while as he works through his clearance process to
help us prepare for the board meeting and to ensure the smooth transition
of the areas of work he leads. Josh and I are working on a transition plan
and will share that withthose of you affected by it soon. And we will find
a moment to raise a glass to him.


For now, though, please join me in thanking Josh for all he's done with us
and in wishing him the best on this exciting move.
