TOP TALKER - "OBAMA BACKERS TIED TO LOBBIES RAISE MILLIONS":"Despite a pledge not to take money from lobbyists, President Obama has relied on prominent supporters who are active in the lobbying industry to raise millions of dollars for his re-election bid," Eric Lichtblau writes on the front page of today's New York Times in a story sure to generate cable chatter today. "At least 15 of Mr. Obama's 'bundlers' - supporters who contribute their own money to his campaign and solicit it from others - are involved in lobbying for Washington consulting shops or private companies. They have raised more than $5 million so far for the campaign."

ROMNEY VS. PERRY - NEW HAMPSHIRE IS THE HUB OF POLITICAL ACTIVITY TONIGHT:"Texas Gov. Rick Perry will bring his 're-booted' presidential campaign, complete with a new organizational hierarchy and a new plan for an optional flat tax, to New Hampshire today, but he won't have the first primary state to himself," according to Union Leader. ROMNEY TO BLAST PERRY ON IMMIGRATION-PREVIEW:The Romney camp knows that continuing to hit Perry's Texas immigration record is a real winner for them. So as Perry returns, they plan to ratchet up criticisms. A release going out later highlights Boston's favorite 60% statistic: "Over the past decade, the number of illegal immigrants in Texas is estimated to have grown by 60%," spokesman Ryan Williams says in a forthcoming release, shared exclusively with Score. "Governor Perry should explain to the people of New Hampshire why he thinks their opposition to his liberal immigration policies means they 'don't have a heart.'"

NH DEMS MOCK ROMNEY WITH HALLOWEEN-THEMED ATTACK:The New Hampshire Democratic Party compiled five pictures of Romney to highlight their attack that he is a shape-shifter (a veritable chameleon in plaid). PLANNED PARENTHOOD BRACKETING THE TRIP WITH COMEDY TOUR: Lizz Winstead, co-creator of the Daily Show, started a "Planned Parenthood, I'm Here for You" comedy tour over the summer in response to Congressional attacks defunding Planned Parenthood. She has visited a number of cities, with proceeds going to local Planned Parenthood chapters. THEAP LOOKS AT CAIN'S CAMPAIGN MANAGER'S "CHECKERED PAST":The goofy web video from earlier this week is bringing scrutiny to Cain campaign manager Mark Block, better known as the guy who takes the long drag on the cigarette. "Perhaps no one is as responsible for the Georgia businessman's meteoric rise in the presidential polls than Block, a Republican strategist and tea party leader who has left a trail questionable - and possibly illegal - campaign work behind him," the Associated Press writes from Atlanta. "Block has been accused of voter suppression and was banned from running Wisconsin political campaigns for three years to settle accusations he coordinated a judge's re-election
campaign with a special interest group. Records show Block has faced foreclosure on two different homes, a tax warrant by the IRS and a lawsuit for an unpaid bill. He's been busted for drunken driving -- twice, according to court records. On the presidential trail, some former Cain staffers say Block broke promises."

NEVADA-ROMNEY TIES OBAMA IN PPP:Obama's approval is 44 percent in the state. "As unpopular as Obama is, there's only one Republican who can catch up with him in the state and that's Mitt Romney," Public Policy Polling director Tom Jensen writes. "They tie at 46%. Romney has an unusual amount of appeal to Nevada Democrats- 27% of them have a favorable opinion of him and 13% say they would vote for him in a hypothetical match up with Obama."

VEEPWATCH - WSJ MOVES A POSITIVE RUBIO STORY:"Many Republicans see Marco Rubio as a rising star who can help them win over the fast-growing Hispanic population, but the Florida senator says toned-down rhetoric on the hot-button issue of immigration would be more likely to bring those voters to the GOP... Mr. Rubio, 40 years old, is viewed by some Republicans as almost a savior when it comes to winning over Hispanics," the Journal writes in a story in today's paper. 'The policies are important, but the rhetoric is sometimes the impediment,' Rubio said in an interview. 'Sometimes-and I'm not pointing fingers at anyone-the way the message is communicated is harmful and has hurt Republicans.'
