Dear John, Lukas, Pierre, Mike, Hunter, Sally, and Stephen, It was great to see so many of you at the board meeting a few weeks ago. As Rachel mentioned in her email to you after the meeting, I think you generated some fantastic ideas and I am particularly happy that so many of you have offered to help with fundraising! After you reviewed the budget, you asked me to send along a breakdown of how we think we can raise the money for our "gold" budget -- basically another $750,000 on top of the $3.4 million we need to raise to keep our existing staff, programs, etc. As requested, I'm attaching this breakdown -- both by percentage and approximate amounts -- of where we think this additional money might come from. Behind the summary sheet is a list of some "buckets" of potential support the fundraising department has identified. Please refer to the attached document for more information but just to give you the basic breakdown of the 750k: - 23% coming from corporate/union supporters, - 53% coming from individuals (about 1/3 of that is increased gifts from existing donors), - 19% coming from foundation support. We have a lot of the individual donors already in the pipeline, and Aubrey (our Deputy Development Director) has been making some great headway here. What we could really use your help with is the corporate and foundation sides since we are starting from scratch with many of those -- although any connections with individuals are also always extremely helpful, of course! Rachel and I will be following up with each of you over the next week or so to find a time when we can talk with you one-on-one about any ideas, connections, thoughts, etc. you have on any of this. With your help, I think we can certainly bring in a lot of this and continue the forward momentum we have in the fundraising department. Thanks in advance for your help and everything you do!
