National Student Clearinghouse: College Enrollment and Graduation Data for our Graduates

Christ Broughton, the Director of Postsecondary Initiatives for the Cristo Rey Network
will present a Webinar on Wednesday, November 16th at 2:00 pm EST about the importance
and impact of Cristo Rey's use of National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) data. Whether
your school has already submitted this data, or is still working to meet the November

As a result of the Webinar, the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) November 15th
deadline has been extended one week to Tuesday, November 22nd!

About the Network's NSC Data Initiative: This summer the Network began collecting
data from schools for college enrollment and graduation verification using NSC StudentTracker
service. The NSC data will provide us with a detailed snapshot of our graduates
currently enrolled as well as historical data for the enrollment and graduation
of all of our graduates going back to the 8th grade class of 1996. If your school

on this important data initiative.

November 14th at 2:00pm EST: NWEA MAP Assessment Webinar

Interested in learning more about the NWEA MAP assessment? This computer based,
adaptable assessment has been adopted by 22 of our Network schools. Schools are
able to receive the results instantly and are able to download detailed reports
within 48 hours of submitting the tests to NWEA. Individualized reports and the
instructional supplemental tools simplify the process of using data to ensure students
are learning. To learn more about this assessment, an introductory webinar has
been set for Network schools for Nov. 14th at 2 p.m. (EST). If interested in participating

Mission Measurement Annual Survey Update

Mission Measurement is currently compiling the data from the 47 member schools that
submitted their data prior to the extended October 15th deadline. This month, you
will receive a copy of your school's 2010-2011 scorecard, aggregate Network data,
and the generational analysis both in the mail and electronically. Also coming
to you electronically later this month will be the Annual Impact Report which celebrates
Network successes and provides greater transparency on individual school performance,
including data from submitted academic workbooks. If you have questions regarding

Network Stars

John Omernik

St. Ignatius School

John is currently the Principal of St. Ignatius School in the Bronx. Prior to his
work at St. Ignatius School he spent 3 years living and teaching at an orphanage
and school sponsored by the Christian Brothers in Mexico City. Prior to his work
in Mexico City he was Principal at another NativityMiguel Network School- De Marillac
Academy in San Francisco. Mr. Omernik joined De Marillac in the summer of 2001
and has worked in the field of elementary education since 1994. He has taught kindergarten,
third grade and sixth grade in self-contained classrooms at St. Dominic's and St.
Brigid's Schools. While at St. Dominic's, he also initiated the development of
a computer lab and designed computer training curriculum for grades one through
eight. Mr. Omernik coauthored a children's picture book which uses rhyme and rhythm
to instruct beginning readers. Prior to entering the field of education, he worked
as a CPA and consultant for Ernst and Young and later as a financial analyst for
Simpson Paper Company. Mr. Omernik earned an Undergraduate Degree in Business
Administration for the University of Notre Dame. He has several degrees from the
University of San Francisco: a Masters in Business Administration, a California
Teaching Credential, and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology.
