Our kids are counting on us, but President Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress will only listen if we speak with one loud voice. Tell Washington: It’s time to act on gun violence! Hunter, Last Wednesday, Congresswoman Blunt Rochester held a telephone town hall with her Delaware constituents on gun safety and gun violence where she heard from concerned parents, teachers, and citizens from across the state. Like so many Americans, they’ve spent these past few weeks hugging their kids a little tighter before they head off to school, and waiting a little more anxiously in the carpool line to pick them up. Our kids should be practicing for their exams, not an active shooter. Our teachers should be preparing them to succeed in the world, not whether to run or hide during a lockdown. SIGN ON: Washington MUST take action to protect our kids from gun violence. SIGN ON This is a uniquely American crisis, Hunter, and we need our leaders in D.C. to come together to solve it. Protecting our kids is more important than any political game or partisan agenda -- their lives are worth far more than any donation from the NRA. As a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, with her colleagues, Lisa asked Republican leaders in Congress to schedule hearings to examine what can be done to protect our schools from gun violence. Hearings would be a step in the right direction, but Lisa knows we can -- and we MUST -- do so much more. Help us tell Washington to act NOW to end this crisis. SIGN ON This isn’t about taking away guns -- it’s about protecting our kids, and getting folks the mental health support they need. It’s about adopting common-sense policies that the vast majority of responsible gun owners support, and making it harder for guns to fall into the wrong hands. Some have said that now isn’t the time to talk about this issue. But every parent knows that, from the moment they’re born, just about every second of your life is devoted to raising, supporting, and protecting your kids. So if not now, when? Hunter, we need to make Washington listen to US -- not the NRA. Tell Trump and Republican leaders: Protect our kids. Take action to prevent school shootings. SIGN ON Thanks so much for standing with us. -- Team Lisa ------------------------------------------------------- | Paid for by Lisa Blunt Rochester for Congress | ------------------------------------------------------- Lisa Blunt Rochester for Congress PO BOX 9767 Wilmington DE 19810 United States If you believe you received this message in error or wish to no longer receive email from us, please http://lisabluntrochester.ngpvanhost.com/unsubscribe?mmid=pizIbTrr5yjf6G8ZyocTtSCpXZS9xgTG3XsY3cLbx1k=&tiid=KMFLjk1k079GnasoK_hAzAypH7aJQgWwg_mHzKEG5Yg=
