Dear Hunter, I have some exciting news. One of the most dynamic political voices in Colorado, Maisha Fields, has joined our team as Levi for Colorado's Political Director. Maisha has experienced the best and the worst of Colorado. She and her mother Senator Rhonda Fields became the state's foremost advocates for gun safety after Maisha's brother and his girlfriend were tragically murdered the day before they took the witness stand in a homicide trial. The Fields family has turned that grief into hope by pouring their lives into advocating for gun safety and improving our community. Just yesterday, Maisha was recognized as one of the Colorado Business Journal's 40 Under 40. She also served as Governor John Hickenlooper's Political Director in his successful 2014 reelection campaign (more on Maisha below!). Please help us support our growing team by making a contribution today. The end of our fundraising quarter is March 31st, and every dollar counts! Best, -Levi LEVI FOR COLORADO WELCOMES COMMUNITY LEADER, GUN REFORM ACTIVIST AND COLORADO POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHT MAISHA MARSHALL-FIELDS AS NEW POLITICAL DIRECTOR March 20, 2018 - Levi for Colorado announced today that Maisha Fields will join Levi Tillemann’s leadership team as Political Director. Maisha Fields most recently served as the Chief of Staff for Senator Rhonda Fields and has a long history working for progressive campaigns and causes across Colorado. She is a proven leader and known for being compassionate, authentic and working for candidates who aren't' afraid to fight for equity for all Coloradans. Maisha began her career in Colorado Politics in 2005 after her brother and his fiancee Vivian Wolfe were tragically murdered. Maisha worked alongside her mother to improve Colorado’s witness protection programs, improve victim rights and strengthen Colorado gun laws. In 2008 she became the deputy campaign manager for then-State Representative Rhonda Fields -- helping her to become the first African-American elected to office in Arapahoe County. Since then Fields has worked on dozens of successful state and local campaigns -- notably she served as Governor John Hickenlooper’s Political director during the 2014 gubernatorial election. Ms. Fields will oversee grassroots organization and mobilization throughout the district. Ms. Field’'s extensive experience in both campaigns and soup-to-nuts policymaking in Colorado make her uniquely qualified to engage and mobilize Democrats and independent voters during this critical moment in Colorado’s political history. Maisha will play a vital role delivering Levi’s message of progressive optimism throughout the state. Maisha currently lives in Centennial with her husband, four children, and three dogs. “We are thrilled and excited to have someone of Maisha’s caliber and expertise join our staff,” stated Colorado 6th Congressional District Candidate Levi Tillemann. “Maisha and I are deeply aligned in our progressive values and our commitment to prioritize people over power. She is a trusted community leader, a working mother, one of the brightest, hardest working political operatives in the state and a powerful addition to our team! That M in Maisha -- it also stands for momentum,” he added. Levi Tillemann for Colorado 6th District Levi Tillemann has deep Colorado roots, a history of public service and a plan for bringing jobs to Colorado’s Sixth Congressional District. He will fight Republican efforts to gut healthcare for low and middle income Coloradans, transfer tax dollars from workers to billionaires, ransack our Western lands and abandon America’s legacy of human rights. Stopping that far right agenda is his mission. Combating economic inequality, ensuring access to healthcare for everyone, protecting the environment and investing in technology and innovation are his top priorities. About Levi Raised in a working-class Denver neighborhood, Levi enrolled in Regis University when he was 15, and then transferred to Yale. While pursuing his Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins, Levi founded IRIS Engines, Inc., then shifted his focus to electric vehicles. During the Obama administration, he served as an advisor in the Energy Department. Levi is the author of The Great Race: The Global Quest for the Car of the Future (Simon and Schuster 2015). He speaks Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese and is currently managing partner at Valence Strategic. His father was an award-winning Colorado inventor and entrepreneur; his grandmother, Nancy Dick, served as Colorado’s first female Lieutenant Governor; and his grandfather, Tom Lantos, fought in the anti-Nazi resistance in Hungary, immigrated to America, ran for Congress and served for three decades. --------------------------------------- | Paid for by Levi for Colorado | --------------------------------------- Levi for Colorado PO Box 31468 Aurora CO 80041 United States https://act.myngp.com/el/y2Fa2v7ZqlprJhQzmqmGNPq7zow8NYUiRVwUJD2p3cI=/jQ4gUNInpVebXI3YzpufqrrI2DSIuGHzkS5RQOYS3hw
