In the United States, we are in the midst of a reckoning. Women who have endured horrifying workplace abuse are speaking out and holding the most powerful abusers accountable.

But, around the world, every day women and children are subjected to horrible workplace violence, harassment and rape. This is not working. This must be stopped. With your help we can help women and girls like Fernanda.

At age 12, she went to work with her sister -- cooking and cleaning the home of a married couple. Soon after they started, the man began to sexually abuse them.

"My employer's husband would sneak into our room and touch my sister. So from that moment, I stayed awake taking care of her -- until one day he touched me."

After years of abuse, Fernanda and others are breaking the silence and speaking out. Like Fernanda, many women begin working as children, making them more vulnerable to abuse. Often made to believe they are at fault, they don't know where to go to for help and, when they do, many times they are not believed. The laws are not protecting them and the repeated abuse can lead to serious health problems, and sometimes suicide.
