Financial Times CommentaryFariborz S. Fatemi February 5, 2019 Former ProfessionalStaff MemberHouse Foreign AffairsCommitteeSenate Foreign RelationsCommittee As the new year began, the US had suffered two chaotic yearsof Trump. He is the man who knows nothing, does not know he knows nothing anddoes not care, exemplified by the fact that Trump learned nothing from thetrashing he and his party took in the midterms. There he goes again, Trump and his acolytes continue soilingthe presidency and the White House, serving as Putin’s useful idiots now turnedPutin’s lapdogs. How else can you explain the one-on-one secret talks? Trump has also become Putin’s parrot. The Russian militaryintelligence puts out fake information and Trump, Putin’s parrot, tweets it outas real. To name a few tweets: Poland/Belarus; Vietnam; and Montenegro. Howdisgusting. It is well to remember and repeat what I wrote last August,as commentary in this publication. I outlined how Putin, trained KBG agent wantingto disrupt America, found a perfect lackey in Trump, a man who could bemanipulated and, as someone said, is from the “world of fixers, flatterers andmoney launderers.” Putin, targeting America for a number of years, had certaingoals in mind. Some examples: destabilizeAmerica from within; weaken the Western alliance; disrupt America’s economicleadership; build global distrust of America, and discredit democracy in theWest. Compare these goals with what Trump has done the last two years and you cansee why Putin is always smiling. Is it any wonder then that the national security community, working day and night to keep US safe, believes that Trump is the greatestdanger to America's national security. The community believes that Putin nowhas assets at the highest levels of US government. The record shows over 100 contacts with Russian-linkedofficials during Trump’s campaign. Manafort and Gates sharing polling data withRussians connected to Russian intelligence service. The people around Trump, Flynn,Manafort, Cohen, Page, Gates, all have plead guilty, Stone has been charged,Ivanka and Donald Jr. waiting in the wings to be charged. Most people know, andTrump knows, that people think the Russians helped him win and that he does nothold office legitimately. The rule of law, separation of powers, equalprotection and civil liberties, trampled upon. The biggest group of kleptoesever assembled to rob the people. Trump’s chaotic behavior is reflected in every poll. Sixtyper cent of people say they are embarrassed by Trump and the people around him.Close to another 60 per cent disapprove of Trump and think he is unfit foroffice. Trump, according to numerous fact checkers, has lied over 8000 timesand counting, sometimes over a dozen lies in one day. After Trump’s disgraceful support of Mohammed of SaudiArabia, his banker and the killer of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, everyone isasking why does Trump continue his uninformed bombast against Iran, asophisticated, modern society of 90 million people with a civilization datingsome 5,000 years? Why not listen to US intelligence officials about Iran andbuild on what President Obama/Biden did to slightly open a door to betterrelations? Unfortunately, Trump would be hard pressed to find Iran on a map. Manypeople say Trump’s ignorance about Iran is taken advantage of and influenced bya trio of evil vipers, Bolton, Giuliani and Gingrich. All have taken money froman anti-Iran terrorist cult known as Mujahedeen Kalq, its parent group, theParis-headquartered National Council of Resistance. They have killed Americanservice personnel. People ask what are they doing in the White House havingtaken money from terrorists, does that not constitute treason? Trump is further influenced by Saudi Arabia, a medieval, tribal society with harsh tribal attitudes, a third of Iran’s population, womentreated as chattel and where eight out of ten workers are foreigners. Further, Trump’s ignorance is influenced by Israel’sNetanyahu who for over 25 years, has been saying Iran will have a nuclearweapon the next day, the next month, the next year. Perhaps soon Trump andNetanyahu can sit together in a cell in their orange jump suits listening tojail house rock and reminiscing about the “malign” Iranians. What is really malign is not Iranian activities but themalign incompetence of Trump and, like himself, the morons he has surroundedhimself with. Such as Pompeo, the pretend Secretary of State, who went to Cairoand delivered a speech that embarrassed himself and his country. At times, hespoke from both sides of his mouth, contradicting what he had just said. Hisineptness was front and center at the UN during the debate about Venezuela.Pompeo describing Venezuela: “his regime is morally bankrupt, it’s economicallyincompetent and it’s profoundly corrupt and it’s undemocratic to the core.”Most observers commented that Pompeo was subliminally describing his ownadministration. Then there is the hapless Pence, recruited by Manafort, ishe really a dummy to Trump or complicit being Putin’s dummy? After all, as headof transition, how did he allow all those acolytes of Trump, most going to jailnow, get into the White House without security clearances? Such is the real state of the union as Trump goes before theUS Congress to lie and continue his moral stain on America.
