R.Hunter: If we stand any chance of taking back the Senate in 2018, we must defend every Democratic seat - and there's none more important than Ohio's.

Trump won the state by more than eight points, so we know that my good friend Sen. Sherrod Brown is particularly vulnerable heading into election season.

National Journal has even named Sherrod's race one of the top races of 2018, which is why a Mitch McConnell-linked Super PAC is already running attack ads and the Koch brothers have pledged to spend millions to win here.

They know their Republican majority comes down to flipping Ohio red. We cannot let that happen.

Sherrod told me that he needs us to raise $4,500 by midnight if he's going to have enough to fight back - but we're falling short of that goal with just a few hours left. Sherrod's likely opponent, Congressman Jim Renacci, was just endorsed by Trump, and it's clear why: He will be a rubber stamp for the president's extreme agenda and will undo everything Sherrod has helped Democrats accomplish. He would help Trump strip health care from millions of Americans, slash Medicare funding and roll back critical environmental protections.

For years, Sherrod has been a leading voice in the Senate. We cannot afford to lose his voice or his vote. Winning in Ohio must start today - and it starts with hitting this $4,500 goal.
