Hello all. This is a reminder that the girls are all invited/encouraged to come to Elena's house Monday (TODAY) noon-3 pm, to bake up goods for Wednesday's team bake sale. You should have seen the notice regarding the bake sale in the Sunday newsletter (it was posted in both Upper and Middle School newsletters). The girls will need lots of baked goods to sell to raise funds for team expenses! Here's my original message sent last week: Greetings SFS LAX Families. I hope you are all enjoying a fun, restful Spring break. The girls should have all heard from Elena earlier this week regarding the upcoming team bake-a-thon on MONDAY, APRIL 2. The girls will be conducting a bake sale next week, on Wednesday April 4, to raise funds to offset team expenses. Hannah J has led the effort to sign up girls to staff sales time slots on Wednesday. In order to have a successful bake sale, the girls need to produce baked goods. Toward that end, Elena and I are hosting a bake-a-thon at our house on Monday, from noon- 3 pm. After baking (and clean-up), the girls can head to practice. I can take six girls from our house to school in my van, and I'll count on the drivers (girls) in the group to take the rest. Here's what the girls are asked to bring: 1) prepared batter of their choosing, 2) container to hold finished product (such as a large tupperware, or similar, to keep the items fresh for a couple of days). I want to avoid time/mess of making batter at our house. If someone wants to make something that isn't really a batter, and needs to be made on-site, such as rice krispie treats, then we'll make an exception. Optional item to bring: baking sheets. I have a bunch, but we can have 4-6 sheets/pans going at once in my ovens, and in order to keep things moving, a few extra sheets/pans could help. I'll have some food and beverage for girls to enjoy when they're not getting their baked goods onto pans or into and out of the ovens. The goal is for the girls to do their part to raise money so we parents don't have to keep opening our wallets for extra team expenses. Also, baking together is fun!
