Enough is enough, R.Hunter.

I have spent the past few weeks talking with students, parents and teachers across Delaware, and they all agree: We need to act now to address gun violence. It's beyond time for action on gun safety.

That is why I've reached across the aisle to co-sponsor legislation that would close a huge loophole in our background check system - requiring that federal officials notify state law enforcement whenever a person who isn't allowed to buy a gun tries to do so.

I have an "F" rating from the NRA - and I'm proud of it - but this isn't the extreme measure that the gun lobby tries to frame it as. In fact, the vast majority of Americans support policy like this. We can get it passed, saving countless lives in the process - and I won't stop fighting until that happens.

Americans also support efforts to fix our background check system and expand the law to require background checks for gun shows and private sales. I am proud to co-sponsor measures including the Background Check Expansion Act, the Fix NICS Act, and other common sense measures to reduce gun violence.
