Dear Hunter,

It’s been some time since I shared with you a few of my recent articles on various global policy issues. But I am today sending along two of my more current reflections on issues that I hope you will find of interest, especially as these questions appear to be even more compelling with each passing day.

We outline four alternative futures for this powerhouse country which hinge on whether or not India will find a way to be a more inclusive economy, thereby unlocking the huge potential of its young and dynamic population. Inclusive growth, of course, is not just an Indian challenge. As I see it, many of the divisive political maladies of our day…..whether manifest in Trump’s America, post-Brexit UK, centrifugal pressures on the EU….can all be traced to a failure of the rising economic tide to lift all boats.

The second blog post [ https://info.atkearney.com/email_handler.aspx?sid=62fdad46-24c9-454c-a914-6f7768114ea3&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.weforum.org%2fagenda%2f2018%2f03%2fthis-is-the-future-of-the-internet ] , written for the World Economic Forum, is especially timely given recent revelations [ https://info.atkearney.com/email_handler.aspx?sid=62fdad46-24c9-454c-a914-6f7768114ea3&redirect=https%3a%2f%2fwww.nytimes.com%2f2018%2f03%2f17%2fus%2fpolitics%2fcambridge-analytica-trump-campaign.html ] of how Cambridge Analytica tapped into and manipulated the identities of some 50 million Facebook users, prompting various authorities around the world to seek ways to prevent future such abuses. The prospect for increased government scrutiny and regulation that I discuss in the post is even more likely as more of these abuses come to light.

Both of these challenges have developed over time and will take time to be addressed successfully and collaboratively by both the public and private sectors. However, the extent to which we can marshal the wisdom and will to do so will determine the future course of economic and social progress for generations to come.
