Today, because of you, and your family, a first generation son of Irish immigrants gets to tell his 84 year old parents that their son is to be received at the White House by the President of the United States as a guest of the Vice President and Second Lady for a reception honoring the Taoiseach.

Never in their wildest imagination did they conjure up that thought when the O'Malley's from County Mayo and McGlinchey's from Derry came across the shore on a Cunard liner.

I am eternally grateful for this random act of kindness. The Irish claddagh ring represents celtic friendship, loyalty and love and in the spirit of our hibernian heritage, my hands, heart and crown are dedicated to you and your family.

I am very fortunate to be able to call you friends and don't think I take it for granted one minute. Life is simply too short.
