We'll be sharing more details later, but for now we need your help designing a team jersey. We know we've got some creative, artistic customers out there and we can't wait to see what you guys come up with! Our only requests are that you keep your work of art to a maximum of four colors and stick within the parameters defined here [http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001Ati69LOWgUSFM6KUFgAh0OkypcRsFW4oEcYa2sHKccYeR4_0wprmLQas9YuN9aQQFArW-kyT5Gr8f7K6Urdqb1a3qMU1YddpqP3QyqAUpMfKnQ3O-Jmf3o84jm9LQy4g49IIpAybW1RO9ijnVvDL2UQ7vsUc5mLNuCiHkdv0pUCnF6bqXLASY4DO4rf_ULc_fKUgerCyK2hoW2TKI87zF0-K7A7JNp8MyCH3o1U8Vq__ipJS9hvxlzcePEl1tQsw1AQpY6oWHqZXXhyg6gMbrz24mAHUF5kQ94P1uoFFtvuvWB3Z_7h80A==]. All designs are due by Sunday, March 24th at 4:00pm and may be sent to info@cyclelifeusa.com [mailto:info@cyclelifeusa.com], dropped off at the shop, mailed in, or delivered via carrier pigeon or Pony Express. Just get it to us by 4:00pm on March 24th and you're good. The winner will, of course, receive a jersey of his or her very own to proudly wear wherever their bike takes them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gear to Help You Get Through the Last Few Weeks of Winter: Trainer Wheels While spring has certainly begun to show hints of itself lately, with our characteristically crazy weather there are undoubtedly more than just a few cold, wet days ahead of us before spring arrives for good. If you plan to cope with less than ideal riding conditions by pedaling indoors on a trainer (and we can't say we blame you), you might want to look into a trainer wheel to help you stay on target with your performance goals. Road wheels tend to heat up after extended periods in the trainer. This isn't good for the bearings and, ultimately, it wears out the tire. In the case of nicer tires, the heat generated in a trainer may cause them to delaminate, which can obviously be dangerous when you're back out on the road. In addition to eliminating a host of safety concerns, we love trainer wheels because they create a more consistent resistance during work outs and do a superior job of mimicking a true road feel. If a trainer wheel sounds like it might help you make the most of your indoor workouts, stop on by CycleLife to check out our selection. We'd be happy to answer any questions you may have and help you take your trainer sessions to the next level. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Importance of Good Fit With the return of warmer weather, we hope you'll be spending more time on your bike. Which means you might be reminded of some old aches and pains - creaky knees, numb hands, a sore back... If this is beginning to sound familiar, a bike fit might be in order. Even if you've had a fit before, our bodies do change as our weight, flexibility, and general physical fitness levels fluctuate - so it might be time for an update. Ultimately, investing in a thorough fit now will save discomfort down the road and possibly also prevent, or avoid exacerbating, injuries. Meaning that you'll enjoy each ride much more, which we think is the best reason yet to schedule a fit as soon as possible. For more information on bike fit, as well as answers to some commonly asked questions, visit our website [http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001Ati69LOWgUTKKBHyNX0iWvt5wmWMyJTwKd5t0qJpZnwbZXEy2xVpYkFqS2wzSRIr-Ap46kmXOHuVCjAzqyiMTqucpMF3Dj6_Bizc3JJvA5p2yrCpfqg0gW-d2TiQz7XWdd7hliJW6Pp1LUCbQdrylwhFc8DRdjH3IwE9Jz8FnW3wnhot_64wNFEDq5SM-Os0VSFFElSnQnc1u5cOeEFFqcJjkSMiNzkeUVnhnhVtDGat5jIWK8hZCPHSFwiWwp-PiFPxR_wuAWIdD0eL4cUF5x_NAHIf3V2V] or give us a call at 202-333-8883. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Introducing Team GS-CycleLife CycleLife is proud to introduce our newest friends, Team GS-CycleLife. The members of this team are 11 junior riders (Keane Brennan, William Tanner Browne, Ryan Collins, Matthew English, Alexander Guzy-Sprague, Samuel James, Isaac Kaplan, Dimitry Lemus, Joanna Millstein, Aidan Palmer, and Liam Panero) from the DC area, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, all of whom have proven themselves in local teams and races and are ready for the next level of competition. These great riders will be traveling to races all up and down the eastern seaboard, as well as a few other locations, throughout the spring and summer. They'll be kicking things off at the BMC CycleLife Spring Training Camp in Warrenton, Virginia, from March 8 - 10. Through their travels, they will be supported by a host of awesome sponsors, including BMC, Danze Gerber, Veloshine, Minshall Stewart Properties, Skratch Labs, and Continental Tires. Thanks to each of these companies for their sponsorship! We'll keep you posted on their progress and success throughout the season, so be sure to check back in at our website [http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001Ati69LOWgUQMlsuWmNjvuYEmcr3i6U0tNHc0vGjz7auhsUjm7q3K1ZswEjIqz6QeJj33Ajh6Q_qoWYA9LitwBJHBz505L0jJN7RqBMg8cIj_ZjPd_vzLnUAxeFA5kEgTSzdSCX5g5LycLiXIMGmhS4rDXTEupymVQtEe1LOXGcAOEphwPmihfU523DMr3Rm_OB1v3Oj-53-31QrQv2tz5rtY9A-TUqPO-P8v8IdUILKc8Tm6izRzegxienWcTgiELYuUnI8QQtw=] often for updates. In the meantime, let's wish these 11 athletes luck in the beginning of their season! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome New Staff Member: Kris Macalinao If you haven't already met CycleLife's newest team member, be sure to stop by and introduce yourself to Kris. Kris has years of experience as a dedicated mechanic and believes that attention to detail defines quality work. He loves handmade frames and components, and as a trained sculptor appreciates the craftsmanship that goes into these creations. Kris is an inspiring racer in the mid-Atlantic region, and can be found spending his weekends on group rides and racing all over the East Coast. When he's not riding, he's a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From the Blog: Cafe Dumonde Lube Chain lube is a big deal in my house. I have too many bottles stashed away to even begin counting (I even have a 32 ounce jug of one of my longtime favorites). Unfortunately, the strong odor of some lubes has made this a bit of a contentious issue between my wife and me. One of my favorite lubes, Dumonde Tech Lite, has a very strong aroma - and around the shop, we've found that you either love it or you hate it. I love it; my wife hates it. Luckily, Dumonde Tech has come to the rescue with Café Dumonde - the world's first coffee scented lube. This is the same formula that Dumonde Tech uses in their standard lube, but with the strong smell replaced by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. We have limited quantities of Café Dumonde in stock (alongside a wide range of other Dumonde Tech products). If you, too, have a lube problem around your house, this may just be the perfect solution - and it will keep your drivetrain running quietly this winter. Enjoy the ride.
